October 8 on Tuesday is my first day of observing my cooperating teacher, ma'am Kiezel Jan Penit, teaching in Supang National High School. Ma'am Kiezel is a grade 9 English teacher who teaches five classes (Platinum, Silver, Bronze, Gold, and Titanium) from Monday to Friday.

The first class I observed was my Cooperating Teacher's 9-Platinum advisory class. Ma'am Kiezel began the lesson with a greeting and asked one of her students to lead the prayer. Before beginning the lesson, she gave me a few minutes to introduce myself and let the students have the opportunity to ask questions about me.

The class begins with Ma'am Kiezel explaining the meaning of the vocabulary that the students had learned the day before. Continuing with the topic of the day, "making connections between texts to particular issues," Ma'am Kiezel will display several types of particular issues on television and the students have to figure out what the particular issue is called. After that, she would explain a poem named "England in 1819" and the author before showing the students a video of the poem.

Throughout my observation of her classes, I have noticed that she is highly observant of her students, and she will know right away if they are not paying attention to her lesson. She was very diligent but also kind to her students. For example, when the students were assigned to present their work in front of the class, but one group refused to do so, she still gave them 20 points despite her saying to the class that they would get a 0 because they did their work on paper.
